Are you spending time with the right stuff?

Something that keeps popping up on my head, especially on those days when I'm completely immersed in learning some tricks of yet another half backed (but cool), technology, is: Am i spending time on the right stuff?

I mean, how important it is to know, for your life, that the java database derby has word "transaction" as a reserved word (and thus you cannot use it as a table column). At first you can think uau nice thing i found out... but then later ... I realize: what i dumb ass i am, first for spending time on learning this, and second for being happy for figuring out this useless thing.

Well, to be fair, i guess, time is well spent if it makes you happy somehow, or by being fun or by being profitable or because you can show it off, or whatever that makes your day... But other than that...

So.... What we learn from this? Lets close computer and off to party!

Here we go.... Closing ....

Ahh, by the way, been playing lately with some jruby and data mining wannabe scripts, with some java mixed in, more posts on this later...

Damn!!! did it again!!...

Nice thing I found out? When do you feel that? The thing you should feel is, "Why to they use transaction as a reserved word? They should allow you to use it as a table name, even if it's a keyword" :)

:-/ <-- Me is lost.

Anyway, I have thought the same about my internet addiction many times. I've tried to quite but alas I'm not strong enough.
