I've been following Clojure (and Scala too) as more expressive/less boilerplate languages for the JVM. As I like Lisp(Paul Graham's syndrome), I like Clojure's more, but I doubt I will have the chance to use it in a professional project here in Lisbon, so I regard it as a hobby.
I'm a newbie to both VB.Net and JVM. Having wrestled with Vb Express, I've come to the conclusion that "it sucks". I decided a switch to the Java side, and seeings as I am interested in Lisp, I decided to give clojure a try.
It's very early days yet, but I'm pleased with the results. I even managed to figure out database connectivity relatively quickly - and remember, I'm starting out with zero Java and clojure.
